HAP’s Adult Basic Education program is designed to help new refugees and immigrants learn English and basic skills. We specialize in helping adults who may have little or no education by creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment designed for adult learners. ABE service provides English language instruction, basic math, computer literacy, and work readiness. No matter how much, or little, previous education you have had, we can help you learn the necessary skills to get ahead. We offer day, evening, and distance (online) classes year-round to allow anyone to start at any time and balance their education with their schedules.

Our free classes can help you improve:

  • English language – We focus on low-to-intermediate levels of Adult English language learning. Our classes also teach English that will help in the working world.
  • Math – We teach basic math that helps prepare students for both daily life and in the working world.
  • Computer Literacy – We teach people how to use a computer, Microsoft Word, and the Internet in order to be successful in today’s technological age.
  • Work Readiness – We teach people how to enter the U.S. job market and what to expect with American work culture.

HAP’s expertise is supporting adult students, many of whom have had little or no education as children. Our students learn in engaging, supportive classroom environments designed with principles of adult learning in mind. We are culturally sensitive and aware, as our students come from all over the world. Classes operate year-round, have open enrollment, and conform to ESL levels 0-6.
