Yengchai has been a bus driver with HAP since the end of 2015. He loves working with students and getting to know them. Yengchai sees the importance of his role because he is the first person each student sees in the morning and the last person they see at the end of the day. He knows each student has a different home life so he enjoys being a consistent presence for the children and providing a positive adult influence. He also knows that reflecting the community he serves is important. Because he is Hmong, he plays an important role in working with parents by reflecting their ethnicity and being able to speak the same language. He is also able to help out his Hmong co-workers providing language assistance which he enjoys to help them also succeed in their work.
