Vacant Building Leveled for Creation of Little Mekong Plaza

Demolition of the vacant building next to HAP’s University Avenue office is complete, and plans for the Little Mekong Plaza are moving along to the construction phase, with a planned opening in June. Once completed, the plaza will be one of the first privately-owned public spaces (POPS) on the Green Line. It will be designed to reflect the diverse cultures of the Hmong, Vietnamese, and other immigrant communities that live, work, and play in the Frogtown neighborhood. The plaza is also expected to be ready for full use in the Little Mekong Night Market on July 23rd and 24th.

Artist Renderings of the new park were released yesterday.
