On the Road with Refugee Support Services

HAP RSS Bus TourImagine coming to the United States after spending years in a refugee camp with limited services and very little infrastructure. Trying to navigate a new city, find affordable housing, and get a job with limited English skills and minimal resources could be both frightening and overwhelming.

Our Refugee Support Services help recent refugees get their bearings and chart a course for a new life. Clients who are not citizens and who have been in the U.S. for less than five years can sign up to receive assistance with job training and searches, health care enrollment, housing searches, English classes, child care, and energy assistance. They also receive training on public transportation, as illustrated in the video below. It’s just one more way that HAP helps immigrants and refugees move from poverty to prosperity.
